Reception on Parliament Hill to Welcome Dr. Michael J. Strong as President of CIHR

OTTAWA, October 29, 2018 – The Honourable Judith Seidman and Research Canada are hosting an invitation-only Welcome Reception for Dr. Michael J. Strong, the New President of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), to introduce him to the Parliamentary Health Research Caucus and Ottawa’s leaders in health research and health innovation. Research Canada has had an excellent relationship with CIHR over the years, and we are excited to continue to work collaboratively with Dr. Strong and CIHR to advance the interests and needs of the health research and health innovation ecosystem in Canada.

This reception will feature several guest speakers to welcome Dr. Strong into his new role, including The Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Health, The Honourable Judith Seidman, Parliamentary Health Research Caucus Senate Representative, Ms. Kim Rudd, Parliamentary Health Research Caucus Chair and MP (Northumberland—Peterborough South), Dr. David Hill, Board Director and Past Chair of Research Canada, and Ms. Deborah Gordon-El-Bihbety, President and CEO of Research Canada.
